Okemos High School unveiled its new strength and conditioning center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday night.
The newest addition to the athletic department was paid for through the building and site sinking fund. Boosters also donated $30,000 for new equipment.
The facility, which is located in the northeast corner of the high school, is nearly 4,000 square feet. It’s also the latest athletic facilities upgrade for Okemos, as it has added a new track, new tennis courts and new outdoor scoreboards in the last 18 months.
“I’m really excited for our students and teams,” Okemos athletic director Ira Childress told the State Journal. “This facility will be the new epicenter of OHS sports performance and physical fitness.”
